CMI provides a full scope of medical case
management services for injured works, individuals experiencing a catastrophic injury due
to auto accident, or persons with serious/chronic illness.
Immediate contact is made with family and treating professionals involved. The
carrier is provided with an immediate appraisal of the situation to facilitate decision
making among all parties. Early intervention assists in deterring costs. Our
consultants move quickly to clarify diagnosis, treatment plan, the prognosis and the usual
recovery time.
In catastrophic case management where return to work may not be a main issue, we work with
the insurer, the family, and care providers to assure cost effective quality care and the
attainment of mutual goals.
Referrals to catastrophic case management will be made on a well defined list of diagnoses
including but not limited to:
*Spinal cord injuries
*Severe brain and closed head
injury involving more than a 48
hour hospitalization.
*Amputated limbs
*Burns
*Major deforming injuries
*Multiple trauma/crushing injuries
*Gunshot wounds involving major
body systems
*Total or industrial blindness
*Severe occupational exposure to
radiation or chemicals
